Classic Chamber Concerts Congratulates Winner
First Annual Bert G. Phillips Memorial Prize

Classic Chamber Concerts, a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing world-class music at affordable prices to adults and students in Collier County, congratulates Jared Blajian.  Jared is the first winner of the Bert G. Phillips Memorial Prize given by Classic Chamber Concerts through the scholarship program of The Naples Music Club.  It is especially fitting that this first winner is a cellist as was Mr. Phillips, a co-founder of Classic Chamber Concerts.  Jared will be a tenth grader at Gulf Coast High School and is principal cellist with the Naples Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.  In the summer of 2009, he was awarded first prize in the Strings International Concerto Competition and won the opportunity to play with Paul Arnold of the Philadelphia Orchestra in Vivaldi’s Concerto for violin and cello.  Jared plans to attend a major school of music following his high school graduation and hopes to become a professional cellist.  All of us at Classic Chamber Concerts wish him much success.
