Classic Chamber Concerts began offering concerts to young people in our second season. It is a cornerstone of our mission to introduce students to classical music at an early age knowing that these young people will be the audiences of the future.
We take children’s concerts into the schools, not asking parents or teachers to transport the students to an outside location. By doing this, we are assured of reaching a larger audience who might not otherwise be exposed to such music. Past experience has taught us that all children benefit from this exposure and funds are not always available in the schools to transport students to an off-site location or have groups perform in the school. Classic Chamber Concerts has received grants from the State Street Foundation, the United Arts Council and the League Club, Inc.
It is essential, we believe, to build audiences for the future of classical music. Culture is important to our growing community and children from all backgrounds should be offered that wonderful moment of discovering the joy of music from masters.
